Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director PSSupt Magtanggol B Gatdula announced that Quezon City policemen will do away with the usual sealing of their issued firearms come Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

“We have nothing against the usual sealing with adhesive tape on the firearms of our policemen in order to discourage indiscriminate firing but this time, we would like to inform the public that their Quezon City policemen are no ‘wild wild west’.

Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director PSSupt Magtanggol B Gatdula called on all Quezon City policemen to be vigilant especially during the Yuletide season.

This developed amidst the recent attack in a hotel in Mumbai India, claiming hundreds of lives and injuring hundred others not excluding the recent burning of five buses of Victory Liner and the recent explosion inside the Jehova’s Witnesses Church in North Cotabato.

Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director PSSupt Magtanggol B Gatdula ordered the issuance and distribution of newly acquired 12 gauge shotguns and assorted ammunitions from the Quezon City government under the administration of Mayor Sonny Belmonte.

The firearms were turned-over to QCPD by Mayor Sonny Belmonte during the 69^th QCPD Founding Anniversary celebration wherein the mayor is the guest of honor and speaker.

Acting QCPD Director PSSupt Magtanggol B Gatdula takes pride in the preparedness of the Quezon City Police District during the Annual General Inspection Operational Readiness Security Inspection Test and Evaluation (AGI-ORSITE) which coincided with the 69^th Founding Anniversary of QCPD.
